    Second Edition. Hall sailed to New York, then went up the Hudson to Albany, and on to Canada, where he visited Quebec, Montreal, Kingston, Niagara and York, before returning to the States. Hall's account of his travels is "shrewd, clever, humorous, and without prejudice" (Sabin) and the appendix includes essays on slavery, government and the American character. This second edition has a new preface concerning the conduct of the officer who commanded the forces of Upper Canada after Brock's death and Tecumseh's comments as presented in his speech of September 18th, 1813.
