Peggy Bacon [American, 1895-1987]

Bacon studied under Kenneth Hayes Miller at the Art Students League of New York, where she taught herself drypoint & published her first caricatures in the student magazine. They soon appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, Vanity Fair & major art galleries. Bacon earned the Guggenheim Fellowship for creative work in the graphic art and numerous other awards during her career. She is best know for her satirical caricatures.
