The Canadian Literary Institute was renamed Woodstock College and was a premier educational facility in Southwestern Ontario from 1857-1926. The Canadian Literary Institute originally functioned as a co-ed Baptist college and later as a prep school for university-bound males and was renamed Woodstock College. In 1926 it was forced to close due to low attendance.
