Captain Ogden Creighton was a officer with the British Army and best known for the planning and developing of the village of Clifton in 1832, now known as Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls. He later acquired land along Lake Simcoe at the Narrows and assisted in the planning of Atherley.
Abel W. Ewers came to Canada via the US, first locating to Whitby as a carriage builder and later relocating to Manchester and later took up farming. He was elected to Reach Township council and also was Reeve.
